ABOUT ME

My training and experience enable me to walk alongside you with empathy and understanding

I am the founder of Shattered Hearts Revived Therapy, based in Scotland. Originally from South Africa, I bring a warm, integrative, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, specialising in complex betrayal trauma, problematic sexual behaviour, and relationship recovery.

I am a registered Integrative Counsellor and the first and only practitioner in Scotland certified through APSATS(Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists). My work is partner-sensitive, meaning I recognise betrayal trauma as real trauma and provide structured, stabilising support for both individuals and couples navigating deception, infidelity, and relational trauma.

My approach is deeply integrative and tailored to each client.  I draw from trauma-informed therapy, Brainspotting, the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM), ERCEM (Early Recovery Couples Empathy Model), and Gottman-informed couples work.  This allows me to support clients at both the emotional and nervous system level, not just cognitively.

I am a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (APSATS-CCPS), a Brainspotting Practitioner, Gottman-trained in couples and affair recovery, and trained in advanced trauma, dissociation, and somatic-informed approaches.  My work is grounded in safety, clinical discretion, and deep respect for the complexity of trauma.

Alongside counselling, I am also a Certified Spiritual Director for those who wish to integrate faith into their healing journey.  Spiritual direction is offered gently and never as a replacement for therapy.

I offer a compassionate, structured space where shattered trust, complex trauma, and relational pain can be processed safely — at your pace, and with professional guidance.

Specialist Certifications & Core Models

APSATS – Partner Trauma Specialisation

APSATS-CCPS – Certified Clinical Partner Specialist
I support partners who have experienced betrayal trauma due to a spouse’s compulsive sexual behaviour or pornography addiction, providing stabilisation, validation, and structured recovery support.

APSATS MPTM – Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model
This model reframes how we understand both partners and those struggling with compulsive behaviours. It moves away from blame and toward trauma-informed, system-aware healing.

ERCEM – Early Recovery Couples Empathy Model

Trained under the founder, Coach Carol, I use this model to help couples rebuild connection after betrayal. Empathy is the foundation — creating safety before problem-solving.

Brainspotting – Certified Practitioner

Brainspotting is a focused brain-body therapy that helps process trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, depression, and addiction. It works beyond words, accessing where trauma is held in the nervous system and supporting deep, lasting resolution.

Life Model Training

The Life Model focuses on building emotional maturity and relational skills across the lifespan. It integrates neuroscience, attachment, and spiritual formation, drawing on the work of Dr. Jim Wilder and aligning with developmental frameworks such as Erik Erikson’s stages.
